Yasutaka Yoshimura: Behaviors and Protocols

Yasutaka Yoshimura reexamines the social origins of architecture and observes and analyzes methods by which architecture obtains involvement in society. Currently, as a result of harsh changes in society's structure and, subsequently, the creative environment, buildings and spaces can no longer be designed simply on the basis of routine everyday lifestyle (behavior). Current conditions demand a general understanding of outside manuals (protocols) in wide-ranging fields, such as regulations, laws, labor, markets, distribution, and loans. Yoshimura argues that it is necessary to carefully eliminate contradictions between architecture and society and boldly express the potential for methods of bridging them. The book introduces a new architect profile for architecture and urban design along with numerous of Yoshimura's own ideas.
