The works of Junya Ishigami from his earliest period have been founded on extreme concepts. They include his exceedingly thin, 3mm-thick "table" (2005) measuring 9.5m x 2.6m x 1.1m, his "Square Balloon" 14m high and weighing one ton (2007), and his "KAIT workshop" a 2,000m-square space structured using 305 columns (2008). Through the creation of works traversing the fields of architecture, landscape, topography, installation, furniture, and art, he is discovering new manners of space and methods of creating them.
This book, which features small diagrams (sketches, drawings, illustrations, paintings, collages, photographs) and text that meet at an extreme level, resembles an Ishigami work.
